Exposed by the pandemic, fissures in South Carolina’s childcare network were stressed to a breaking point. So ABC Quality, the state’s childcare rating and improvement program, expanded its calling. A three-pronged approach to progress was adopted. Today, the evolved brand recognizes the realities of the situation and positions ABC Quality as the state’s lead agency in helping parents secure better, more affordable and more accessible childcare.
Elevating the early care and education field to its proper place in our culture is no simple task, but the organization doubled down in 2021, enlisting us to help them be a voice for parents and providers alike.
Granting financial assistance to get more families the care they need and extending best-practice curricula and capacity-building funds for providers, the work has helped garner a 13% increase in participating providers and more than 65,000 child care scholarships.
